Horror, horror

As Jack Cafferty put it, “this woman will be a 72-year- old heartbeat away from being president of the United States”:

Thanks to TPM for collecting the evidence.

All Americans should watch this piece and then wonder why the Republican Party still succeeds in upholding the even polls. It’s beyond me.

  1. but stuff like this is precisely *why* she is doing so well… just like Bush did… twice!

Could the republicans win an election based on their perceived competence and economic policies? hell no. that’s stuff only a small fraction of their voters actually care about, and they know it. That’s how Palin got involved.

They are relying on voters who are so estranged from international relations/commerce that they just don’t care. Republicans are winning these elections because they support issues that the average mid westerner/southerner can actually relate to, you know, the hatred of arabs and queers… oh, and abortions.

  2. Yes, the chance of people just ignoring (or not discovering) Palin’s lack of knowledge and competence is terribly high. But I’m finding it hard to believe that a bunch of well-aware Republican strategists actually chose Palin, because of her hockey-mom capabilities rather than her political skills. I believe there is a serious feeling of regret among top Republicans – and even McCain (hence his temper at the recent TV-debate).

Interesting if Biden can control his desire to knock-out Palin tonight … Elitism might just be the greatest enemy in the Democratic party this year.
